Minato originally came to Hypnos to get away from the moving every few months and switching families all the time, but It was discovered that when Minato came to Hypnos in the first place, he didn't actually have a 'family' to speak of. He knew about this from the start and did his best to fight returning to Japan for months without telling anyone
