Our parents are exactly the same as yours! We want to take creative writing and English because we want to be authors and work in publishing/editing. Our dad was like yeah but what kind of money will you make? Then there's our mom who doesn't care what we do as long as we're happy. I would never have been able to resist that birthday cake! At least you had pretzels though! :)

I'm almost positive that all parents respond to children in the same way. It's, like, inevitable or something. I think they want us to pick a job that pays well just so we don't end up moving back in with them. xD

And pretzels. Oh gosh I wouldn't be able to survive without them. ♥

And if you love designing things, I don't think you really need to major in art or go to art school so long as you have a portfolio to show people -- like graphic/webpage design for instance, you can just print the images or direct people to a website. That worked for me when I interviewed for a PR internship.

Besides advertising, have you considered marketing in general? It might be a good idea to read up on the industry first before choosing to specialize :)

BUMPER STICKER. Yessss. I'm getting that made ASAP.

I did do a little research on marketing vs. advertising, but it's all pretty much up in the air as of late. But, I totally agree with you. Definitely need to look into it more, which will happen eventually. Hopefully before I actually pick a major. :)
