“Yes, why do you hate me, child?”
Sarah looked up from her folded arms, knowing and dreading who she was going to see. Where there had been no one at the table, now sat a calm woman in a Grecian dress.
“I’m sorry. I am upset and spoke hastily,” Sarah managed. “But… why her? Why that door? Were you… trying to kill me?”
She raised an eyebrow. “I saved your life, girl.”
Sarah sighed. “Actually, without you I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t exist in the first place. Grandmother.”
The goddess shrugged and gestured in a circle, beginning and ending the same. “Perspective.”
