I used to have a clear idea of what my life would be like. Get my dream job in the Park Service. Build myself a small house somewhere. Meet someone special. Marry. Have kids. Live a good life.
Actually, I have done all that.
But all of the ‘not normal’ overwhelms me. I’ve changed, and it’s so hard to stop and remember what’s important every day. I need to step away, just for a little while, and enjoy the simple things. Something as fleeting as a field full of fireflies can remind me how precious each moment really is.
