oh wow! This was just great. The slow unfolding of the story, the hints at how Ray and Brad got to where they are now, and the characters are all just great. Loved it!
I am overwhelmed with FEELINGS. My god, it was worth the wait. This is the Brad/Ray that lives and breathes in my head, it's almost scary how much so? This is like... the brief moment on the football field (Brad chasing-but-not-chasing after Ray) stretched out into miles of beautiful words. Ray lashing out through his insecurities, Brad trying not to let him slip through his fingers- only Brad being able to see him bewtween the moments Ray changes masks- it all felt achingly real

GOOD OT3. It occurs to me that just about any time I focus on Brad and Ray there is a roadtrip involved. WHICH I AM TOTALLY FINE WITH. Because I love me some roadtrips aw yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
On a shallow note: Brad in SUITS.
Also um I love Brad in suits. But! Maybe we're not shallow! The suits are Brad's uniform! There's meaning there! Etc! Not just beauty!

Yes! When you gave me the picture I immediately saw that scene in my mind and then had to find the way there and it was awesome.

Their characterisations still ring so true, in spite of the shift in power dynamics here.
I loved seeing Brad being a BAMF in a suit who rolls into to do battle - with records labels and management and Ray himself - with a goddam sword :-D
And Ray is gorgeously, stunningly fucked up. But so obviously brilliant.
I loved the whole setting, and premise, and development, and backstory and follow-through... I loved it ALL ♥
