Okay, so Deadgirl sucks an immense amount. Pontypool does not. It involves a zombie infection that's passed on through the English language. Brilliant.

Of course, I had to write a tiny slice.

( This has nothing to do with the zombie story I actually AM writing )

Why is this so sad ;_____; Nate clinging to that sliver of hope is somehow more heartbreaking than had Brad been completely zombified. But gods, your universe-building is fantastic. I'd totally read 10k more of this. ♥

I need to check out Pontypool - I'm intrigued by the premise!

I'm already 12k into a different zombie story, so this will have to wait (although it's really neat!)

Oh my goodness. This was absolutely terrifying, tense, and suspenseful. I...I'm rather at a loss of what to say. That movie is very intriguing at this point, but that's because your snippet hooked me and now I want more, or anything related. Incredible premise, at any rate -- very original! And I love the end of your fic how you incorporated that greeting and then made Spanish a way to get around it.

Initially, I thought that language period was a means of infection, but I love that it was solely through the English language. It was great how it was Meesh who unlocked that key, how he died trying to use it, and essentially it's Nate trying to survive, to save Brad, using the same means.

I may head over to Amazon now to look that movie up. ;)
