I think university is great, EXCEPT when I have to do work. Not that I have to do a ton, but you guys should help me procrastinate anyway

Nate joined up in 1940, when he was barely nineteen years old. He’s not sure what he meant to get from serving, but his father had smiled and his mother had held his cheeks between her palms when he told them.
His friends joined for adventure or because they loved America. Nate just wanted to do something different with his life, something with more meaning than being a farmer.
Africa’s different, even if Algiers has a majority of white French people. They’re still people from France though, slippery French tangling with clunky English in cafés and the little shops full of things too expensive to sell

If I'd been carrying my computer around I would've dropped it! OHMYGOD, thank you for getting what I meant. I was afraid to be like 40s AU or script it too much, because you've been churning out such amazing fantastical stuff with very little to go on. I am in awe!
Aw, Nate is Brad's farmboy-turned-military!boytoy! I love this more than I should. Damn, I love this young, fresh Nate so much, and Brad! All silky and charming and utterly irresistible!
The "Nathaniel" part was just cruel, you have no idea how much I love when Brad calls him that, and in this AU it fits a thousand times better! And now I'm really dead. :D
Between Eric/Nate and this, I am very intrigued by baby!Nate. He is really interesting to play around with.
I also love this waaay more than I should, considering I wrote it, which is kind of damn damn damn, since there is a Fandom To Do list that I must adhere to. Eeeeep.

YAY! I think you should go with your feelings, you know? Embrace the love. Embrace baby!Nate and silky!Brad. They want you to.
*grins innocently*
Actually, it's kind of unfair, because there's so many freaking AWESOME ideas in this post... It's all your fault, of course. You give us all these snippets, and we just end up wanting more because they're brilliant.
Oh my god. I didn't know where to start commenting. Reading one snippet led me on to the next and just.. WOW! What a collection of great stories this post contain. But THIS, it just killed me. What an AU, how utterly beautiful and compelling. The stories behind this. Such an intriguing idea. I adore you to bits for all these stories, and the Eric/Nate ones where goegeous, but this one topped it all I think..
