DAY 30 - Did Japan meet your expectations, both good and bad? What has been the most surprising thing about Japan for you, or the thing you least expected?

i'd like to say that i went to Japan with no expectations, but i'd probably be lying to myself. i knew that Japan would be lacking in the racial diversity and western food

Your comment about Japanese stereotyping reminds me of about a week ago when my Japanese boss came back from a trip to Palau or something. He went with some other Japanese guys and they hit up a spa. One of the other guys spent the whole time completely nude and my boss asked him what he was doing. The guy said that he's enjoying Palau in American Fashion. The guy told my boss that Americans rarely wear underwear.

As soon as he finished his story my boss asked me if I wear underwear in a completely serious tone. srs.
