my final 2 days in America... :'[ 2+ weeks just wasn't enough time. i really am NOT looking forward to leaving tuesday... not because i dont want to go back to Japan-- i do miss some things about Japan and my apartment a smidgen-- but because of work. i am frustrated and annoyed with my job, especially with the recent changes from my BOE... work ( Read more... )

How long have you worked in Japan? I understand that you can get tired of the food, but they still have burgers and stuff, right? Tho I would miss Mexican food, but that's what going back to America sometimes is for. *laughs* I'd be excited to just try all the new foods there! I dunno if I'd want to live there 1 or 2 years personally. Hm. For sure 1 year, but 2 would be nice, depending on how it goes..

Is your job just really stressful, or? ;;..

i've worked in Japan for almost 2 1/2 years. i love Japanese food, it's not a problem at all. however no matter how much i love Japanese food, i still miss good western food. unless you live in a metropolitan it is very hard to find western food and even asian food that hasn't been Japan-ized.

my job is stressful at times, but that goes for any and all jobs. ^^; i have a lot of mixed emotions about my job; sometimes it feels completely pointless, sometimes it is rewarding, sometimes it is very stressful, etc etc. there have been a lot of changes to my job since i first got here and the changes have often been very annoying/stressful...

but as i said, all ALT jobs are different. they're often VERY different, so please dont let any of my whining or bitching discourage you. ^^; all situations are different and they are what one makes of them.

You know, it's funny, I was thinkin' about you and your job just recently and wishing that there were some way for you to feel more "in the loop" or informed, etc. I wish there was a way for you to be able to express your dissatisfaction or find a place that suits you better.

It seems like your talent and dedication shouldn't go to waste, I know how hard you try!
