稲刈り at Namegawa

as some may remember, in May i did my first ADIML on a day that happened to be ginger planting at Namegawa. last friday was another interesting day at Namegawa; the whole school went deeper into the mountains than the school already is to harvest rice. :x sadly i didn`t have a camera with me that day, but i did take a few photos with my phone. :x ( Read more... )

How is the akebi? I'm always looking at them in the farmer's markets and wanting to try them, and then I don't because it's just so weird looking and I don't know how to eat it.

it's weird in more than just looks lol.... the texture of the inside "meat" and the taste are pretty unique too... >_>;;

you eat them by slicing the outside open and pulling the skin apart so you can get to the "meat" (which looks like a fkin grub i swear... D;). you eat it straight out of the skin, but beware that you must spit out the seeds as you would watermelon seeds, so dont eat too much of it at once..... because it is full of seeds. i made the mistake of copying the farmers who told me how to eat it. D; they ate the whole thing at once and spit out all the seeds easily, but me...? lol yeah..
