Plan the class with good intentions and then divorce yourself from its outcome. If it's a success, props to you. If not, maybe someone at the school will realize that ENGLISH ONLY IS FUCKING DUMB!!!!!
During my last month, with 3rd years and up I only spoke in English. This was voluntary as I was never requested to speak only English. Never said a word of Japanese. If they asked me a question, I responded in English. This lead to a lot of "Mari, speak JAPANESE! I don't UNDERSTAND YOU!" But I actually was a lot less stressed out
( ... )
:/ did you do the "English only" thing with those classes more than once...?
my biggest fear is that as this is a one-shot thing, not only would a fair amount of the class be devoted to sheer repetition until they got what i meant but because of this the lesson wouldnt even get very far and any English that they do pick up from the class would just be forgotten in the end anyway and thus devoting so much time to making sure they understand me in English would be but a misuse of time and more frustration for all involved. :/
