Sparkles went to sleep early two nights running. We had started bedtime early and it worked perfectly. I thought I saw the clouds parting and the angels singing. Last night was especially amazing because there was still daylight left. It is almost summer solstice, after all. I didn't go to bed early, because I was delirious with freedom, but last

Well, I hope the poor kiddo gets better. This must be really dreary for him.

Huh. Must have been a 24 hour virus. He came to the big bed at 2 AM, nursed voraciously, and slept pretty well until dawn crept in. No more horking. Woke up cheerful and talkative.

He didn't eat very much today, all basically from the BART menu, but he kept it all down. He also kept down the milk Jen gave him. Thank goodness! The not being able to keep down breast milk was very sad to me.

That said, this has been a weird day. Lots of unexplained, "No no no," often meaning yes. Only one nap. The start of a runny nose.

AND, bizarrely, since he was yawning and fading in his high chair at 6 PM, I took him upstairs and put him to bed. Down by 6:20. This is a kid who usually fights sleep until 8:45.

Have apologized to my wife in advance if he turns out to be wired and annoying between 8 and midnight.

Perhaps I should now go prepare dinner for grownups.
