My childhood is over.

Just got back from the midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I enjoyed it tremendously, don't get me wrong, but I'm also rather sad.

You see, I have quite literally grown up with Harry Potter. I read the first book at age 11 and waited dutifully for my letter, which never came, but for about a year I told myself it was ( Read more... )

You should definitely see the movie - it was very enjoyable, and I bet it would be fun in 3D!

Blargh. The epilogue was too ridiculously cheesy for me to enjoy. And they don't even reveal the things I want to know! For example, who is the Minister of Magic? Who is Headmaster at Hogwarts? Stop going on about your horribly unoriginally-named children, Harry Potter, and TELL ME WHAT MATTERS.

... ahem.

Anyway, all I know about the Dark Knight Rises thing is that there's supposed to be a trailer before Harry Potter. I didn't see it at the theatre I went to because they mainly show indie films, so I'm hoping to see it when I go to a different theatre tomorrow.

THE DARK KNIGHT TRAILER IS AMAZING OMG I HOPE YOU GET TO SEE IT SOON

And we have quite a few thoughts in common about the movie...especially the epilogue. xD UGH I AM NEVER GETTING OVER THE FRED DEATH THOUGH. HE DESERVED MUCH MORE SCREEN TIME ):<

So I've yet to start Young Avengers...how are you doing on it? xD

I saw the trailer and I must say, I was underwhelmed. But there was much flailing nonetheless and my friend had to take the popcorn from me so I wouldn't spill all over. XD

Oh, he definitely deserved more screen time! I feel like we witnessed his death in the book (I don't actually remember), but in the movie... BLARGH. SO LITTLE SCREEN TIME. Poor Fred.

I read Young Avengers on Thursday, and it's bloody fantastic. I will flail at you after you read it so I don't spoil anything, but have no worries - it is definitely as enjoyable as I thought it would be! \o/

Meredith posted this on her facebook because she is amazing so I am sharing the love.

"Harry Potter isn't over, it's legacy is just beginning. We're the generation that came of age with Albus Dumbledore reminding us that "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open." Get ready world, here we come."
