Batfic: Winter

I have already discussed my feelings concerning the changes to the Batfamily in DC's reboot, so I won't bore you with my opinions again. But I did say I would write fic, and even though said fic was supposed to make me feel better, in reality I pretty much made myself cry. (I blame this.)

Wow, this made me cry. I love that it's from Damian's POV and that you show he does have internal emotion, almost like a normal ten year old, even if he'd never let the world see that. Great, great story.

A sad little chuckle comes from the communicator, and I hear Grayson say, “Be good, lil’ D,” and then the line finally clicks off, leaving me in silence.

This line really got to me. I was completely fine until I got to it then WHAM! Emotional.

I hate this reboot so much, I want to punch DiDio in the face. Still, at least it may [or will, in my head] give Damian an opportunity to grow without Dick by his side, showing that he can make it and make his [Batman] former partner proud. I think their relationship can survive a cheap reboot. On another note, thanks for making my eyes get misty. I'm just glad that Damian is going to be ok, one way or another.

I'm... starting to come to terms with the changes. There are still things I'm disappointed about, of course, but there are also some nice opportunities to be explored, like the changing relationship between Dick and Damian.

Basically as long as Dick has cameos in the Batman & Robin title, I think I'll survive. And so will their relationship. ♥

Just when I thought I'd gotten a handle on my DC reboot related tears.

This was so emotional, and I enjoyed reading it, even if it did make me cry all over again. I love stories that show the more human, vulnerable side of Damian. It's easy to forget he's only ten years old sometimes.

Ahhh, I'm sorry! If it makes you feel better, I got a little teary writing it. Ten year-old human!Damian is my favorite Damian, and he has a lot of feelings that he tries very hard to hide. Poor baby needs hugs.
