I don't entirely condone giving them money, but those look a lot like Boy Scout uniform socks. They come up just under the knee, but depending on what size you get they might come higher.

smartwool also makes tights, which look very cozy. but they're $40 on their website. just in case that sounds appealing to you at some point. :)

I JUST found some socks used for fly fishing that I LOOOOOVE (The Sock Company - Marsh Master Thigh-Hi Wader Sock)- they come all the way up to your crotch! Oh yeah - and Sock Dreams has those thigh-high rugby socks that I live in! Socks have become my latest obsession...
