Today in my Elections in Political Order class, we started studying the 2000 election. Very interesting. Especially since I was 14 at the time, so I remember some things very clearly, and some not at all.

The most depressing thing? One topic of debate was what to do with the surplus.

But we have no one but ourselves to blame. Or at least the Republican half of ourselves.

Well, let's not give the largely latent majority in the Congress too much credit for preventing things.

Right now, I'm reading so much about elections in general I might not be able to deal. But I'll definitely check that out. On Wednesday we're discussing the actual November - December part (ie, the election and aftermath) so that might be in there. Today was about primaries and campaigning.
