um, i hate to tell ya, but gateway doesnt give a rip if you've had the computer less than a year . . . what they care about is whether the computer was bought from their company in the past year . . . thats how a warranty works, its doesnt start over everytime the computer is given to a new person. sorry ...........

the computer was given to me the day it was bought, so it's less than a year old anyway. I got an email from them today with some stuff I can do. Hopefully that will work.
