Aspiring writer asks for input

So, hello all. I've got a conundrum to work out, and I figured I'd ask people's opinion as a sort of nudge for me to actually make a decision.

Thing is, I've got an idea for a novel. Not anything good, nothing serious and definitely nothing worth people's time, but funny. I think. Chick lit, only with more coarse jokes and sex. Porn with jokes, or

You could set it in Norway but write it in English, with some Norwegian thrown in (maybe translated in footnotes?) to give it colour and cultural realism?

This. Americans especially are suckers for European settings.

Like, "Hello, I am Norwegian and this is how my life sucks" instead of "This is how my life sucks"? That sounds promising! :D

... Yeah, chick-lit. Not sure anyone's really gonna care where it's set, as long as there are jokes and men and girly panicky situations. But written in English, set in Norway seems to somehow... solve my conundrum. That's it!
