On haters roaming the Interwebs

In one of the fan communities that I'm part of - you'll know which one if you're following it as well - there was posted a somewhat heated outburst over an apparently innocent picture appearing in the comm. There had been some fooling around with pictures of red pandas accompanied by a short story text, you know how it is with fanpeople. This red ( Read more... )

That innocent, cute and perfectly amusing post actually got such an idiotic reaction? :/ Good lord, it is awkward when this happens, people react very violently to the strangest and stupidest things, really. *headdesk*.

Yes, and why? Isn't there enough to be angry about in the world already? But then again, I react very violently to haters, so perhaps I shouldn't talk :P It was just... Yeah. You know.

I understand perfectly, though, it is such an irrational thing to do, to get angry over such an insignificance, that it is bound to cause some sort of confusion and a deep sense of frustration. I get deeply resentful about such things as well, because it simply isn't logical.

I have contacted one of the mods about this person, recommending that he/she/it be banned. This person isn't a member of the comm, is indeed not a member of any comm that I can see.

This is a troll and we don't need it.

I'm so angry right now. I do hope the mod can track the IP and have this person banned no matter what name he/she/it uses.

Update: the mod has frozen the posts and has issued a warning. I hope that helps.

Yeah, I suppose this person was only out to make trouble. And succeeded. Thank heaven for mods ^^

I don't know, I get a bit skeeved when furry stuff gets tangled in with my fandoms, personally. It's like having sex with an animal. You just can't put slash in the same category because two people of the same sex are still human beings. Just my opinion.

That is true; there's the question of consent. And I have to agree with you; I don't like furries. But if this person had said it like you just did - politely and to the point - nobody would have cared, right? :) It's just the hating bit that gets in my face, and people hate the silliest thing. I mean - this wasn't even intended as furry.

Exactly, the point is that it shouldn't have been an issue at all, since it wasn't even -intended- to be that, personal opinions aside (this unfamiliar "furry" thing doesn't please me either, for example).

How come you write so flawless English even though it's not your native language?

Greetings from Finland!

P.S. I love your T-Bag... Wish I could have a long conversation with him.

Oh, thank you ^^ It's all to do with practice, I assure you. I've been writing in English since I was thirteen (though I have been known to make consistent mistakes and am very happy to receive constructive criticism).

I do miss my T-Bag; I think I had better start writing Prison Break again! It was the fandom with the most fun :P
