From what I've seen, CBC's playoff coverage is superior to NBC's in every way (not much of a surprise there, and yes, even including Don Cherry's eye-searing suits). I only wish the US got awesome video montages like these before every game.

I don't understand why NBC can't do the same thing. I mean, ratings are shit this year but only because NBC hasn't done a very good job of selling this series, and a good video montage could go a ways toward remedying that. I mean, everyone loves a montage!

I love these! ♥ Spent way too many hours pouring over all the ones for the 2012 playoffs. They're really good at picking out the right songs. CALIFORNICATION?! Um. YES

I can't decide which is my favorite, the one from game 1 or game 3. I'm not a huge fan of that Killers song, but damn, the goosebumps I get from all the archival footage of past Stanley Cups and past Kings and Devils teams. And of course, playing Californication over Quick and Brodeur's goalie stares? YES.

Californication/Game 3!! Because lol, Devils got complete californicated...aka thoroughly trounced. Although the best vid for LA Kings has to be the one with Welcome to the Black Parade for Game 3 of the WCF because that is a seriously fitting vid tribute *and* song choice.

HNIC does such a great job with these in general though - huge improvement from their 2010 ones lol. I find myself going back and watching the Rangers-Capitals ones because I like their song choices and come on, HOLTBEAST!! Then...I remember the end and go sit in my corner.
