How's a brother supposed to develop his film with no darkroom?
Well, an unskilled brother like me would take it to Meijer :-)
Developing my own film is something I would really like to learn to do... I don't take a lot of pictures though, so there wouldn't be a great benefit to me aside from the fact that I think it's really cool.
It's a lot of fun. Very relaxing and you have more creative control . And the best part is that after the initial investment of the equipment, it's almost entirely free. CMU provides the big expensive equipment, and the chemicals. Gotta milk this school for all it's worth.
from what i've heard, the darkroom won't open until they are fully staffed with monitors to cover all of the hours, and i think that they're having kind of a hard time trying to do that this semester because normally they dont have to hang up flyers and try to recruit people. but i'm not really sure how long it will be in the meantime... i assume many photo classes will have projects due within the next week or two, so probably fairly soon.
your mr. wilson story is especially funny because i had some dumbass car trouble this weekend as well.
and good luck in nz. i can't wait to hear about your refreshed outlooks on life when you come back :)
Haha thanks, hopefully my trip will be refreshing :) In new mr wilson news, the window is now broken again, but it's stuck in the 'up' position, instead of down, so that's good enough for me.
yeah, i don't see why they need monitors in the darkroom...most everyone in there knows what they're doing. all they need is someone to stop in at the beginning of each shift to make sure the chemicals are all full. hmph.
