i also recently had money problems. had to get my transmission fixed. total cost.... $1900. put it on my mom's credit card. gave her some money for it. i still owe quite a bit.

That's nice that she let you do that. See, this money was just money that i need to bring to live off of while i'm in New Zealand. I'm not allowed to work, so i basically have to bring as much money as I think i'll need to live for 6 months. Now I have a lot less than I was planning to have.
