Gah! My three-years-old-in-April PowerBook chose this week to crap out on me. I really just wanted it to last until my last lecture of the semester tomorrow, but its case of narcolepsy progressed to the point where I couldn't awaken it at the beginning of class yesterday. I didn't know that D&D still existed. I did hear on Attack of the Show that the guy who created it died (I think they said he was 69?) I'm not a gamer but rarely do I ever hear of D&D (I always hear about W.O.W. though - not my thing either).

I HATE that! My Game Boy years ago started acting cluegy about 4 days past the 90 day manufacturer's warranty. I never got another handheld until the Nintendo DS last month. I think things like that happen to a lot of people. (I think Gabby's husband, Ed, had his iPod shuffle problem just after the warranty ended). You're definitely not alone!

Yeah, D&D is definitely still around. It doesn't have the same media exposure as it did during the 80s, but it has a fairly devoted fan base. It used to be at least as well known as WOW is now!

I'm lucky I have some IT people in my department to take care of these things. Technically the laptop belongs to the university, not to me, so theoretically it's their responsibility to provide me with a machine on which to work!
