TSCC Fic: Between Four Walls

Apr 01, 2011 20:05

Derek Reese: Look, John, what can happen to a person inside four walls... screws with your head; makes you do things you never thought you'd do.
John Connor: Some people never give up. Some people always fight.
Derek Reese: Fewer than you think.

Sarah Connor: I never wanted you to see that tape. I was gonna destroy it. But since you did, did you ( Read more... )

Very nice job. Pescadero is probably the most inaccessible period of Sarah's life, and rarely explored well. Great work.

Your feedback to my story nicki1990 April 2 2011, 22:06:25 UTC
Thanks. I agree, Pescadero is hard to write since we know so little about that time. Glad you think I did a decent job of it, and thanks again for the response

This was really well done ...

I'm gonna be dead honest, I'm a twenty one year old guy and my eyes teared up in the aftermath of the gang rape.

you broke my emotional city walls!

Glad you liked it, despite the incredibly depressing subject matter. That rape scene was something I never imagined myself writing, and I wasn't sure how effective it would be, so I'm happy to hear that it seemed to work.

Well I've written several rape scenes in my TSCC FFs of the past. (Sarah having detailed flashbacks of being sexually abused by her mother while in high school.)

So I understand how you feel, I think it's completely natural for someone to stop and think "What the Fuck is wrong with me?" after writting something so emotionally traumatizing as someone getting molested or raped.

But as long as it's potrayed correctly and for emotional purposes and not some strange fetish like some stories I've seen, than it works.

So you're fine here.

Good Job all around with the concept of the story, You write a lot more of a realistic Pescadero than I do.

Too many years of being a Batman fan has transformed and blurred my version of TSCC Criminally insane hospital with Arkaham Asylum.

LOL!

Lol. Well as someone with half a DVD shelf devoted to Batman the animated series (best cartoon ever), I can certainly understand. Arkham is so much more interesting than Pescadero as far as how you can write about it, what goes on in there. Though Pescadero is obviously doing something right, since it doesn't have inmates escaping every other day :)

Well written from Sarah's perspective tackdriver56 April 4 2011, 00:38:53 UTC
Excellent spelling and grammar, meaningful reexamination of canon from T2 and TSCC from Sarah's perspective.

You stayed safe by following established canon, and added a plausible rape scene and plausible malfeasance by Silberman. The drug induced hallucinations of Kyle were a nice touch.

As I reached the end, though, I was really feeling bogged down, like it was taking too long to get anywhere... a lot like Sarah herself. Perhaps this was intentional?

Of course, everything I read, I hope that it could somehow be used to bring back TSCC.

Thanks for reading. The Kyle stuff was just me extrapolating on the scene from the extended cut of T2, so I don't know how much credit I can take. Any excuse I have to write Sarah and Kyle, I'll gladly take it. As to the pacing, your critique is certainly valid. It was somewhat intentional, I was trying to show Sarah's frustration. All the useless conversations with Silberman, her inability to get out, etc. However, I wrote and edited this in the span of a few days, so I'm sure it could've been tightened up if I'd had a bit more motivation to do so. And yeah, I think we all hope that anything TSCC related will somehow get us our show back.
