An excuse to post

I'd love to tell you about my work, but there's a limit to my ability to talk about that in a public place (and a friends-locked post only affords so much protection). When I quit the Chinese Medicine course, it was because (among many other reasons) I realised that there are very few people in the world who can teach me more about healing minds ( Read more... )

Sorry, you described things that cannot be taught. Can anyone learn sincerity at school? Or, indeed, at college? (College is a great place to learn insincerity, but that is another matter.) You can, at best, have it reinforced if you have it already; but it is not a subject for study.

Those things absolutely can be taught. They're not some magic thing. They have clear definitions and clear actions attached to those definitions.

Parents teach them to their children all the time, and if they don't, the kids usually learn about such things in the playground.

And parents fail. Have you ever met a single child who ever turned out as his/her parents wanted?

Sure. Just because some people don't learn them does not mean that these things are magical mystical unteachable things. They're skills, and skills can be taught.

Thank you for reminding me I have not been giving enough to enough different people. I've been feeling a bit too isolated without realising that.
