"I got you," he’d kept telling her over and over; meaningless words, a promise he couldn’t keep.
He had her. And he lost her.
He couldn’t save her.
His inability to hold her just a little longer, created a guilt that was eating him up from the inside. He hated his weakness. He knew he’d never forgive himself for letting her die.
But what was even worse than this guilt, was her scream he still had in his head; desperation and despair, her mortal fear ... combined in one loud, endless scream that would haunt him until the end of time.

The first thing Hurley did, was visiting an old friend.
He told her everything that happened, hoping by telling his story he’d figure out what to do now.
"I wanna change things, Libby. No more deaths and stuff. I know I can do it. I just don’t know where to start."
"Start by introducing me to your friend, Hugo," Ben offered. Placing the flowers next to the wooden cross, he felt guilty again for the part he’d played on her death. He’d never met Libby, but he knew how much she meant to his friend - and therefore also to him.
