oooh gosh I just can't get any motivation to post entries here at the moment... I'm still reading everyone else's blogs but I have been so busy with work and doing nothing interesting enough to report about

Happy early birthday! Twenty-five isn't so old (I've been it for a whole three months so I should know). It's interesting how different people/families dread different birthdays. After I turned twenty-five, I was talking to an older man who told me how much he hated that birthday because he felt soooo old. For me, my mother, and one of my brothers, we had independently come to the conclusion shortly before our tenth birthday's that 10 was the end of the line (exiting from single digits into double digits where, in all likelihood, we would die). So, really, enjoy the massage/facial!
ha ha I like that! :) I was kind of depressed about the whole turning 25 thing about a month ago... but now that it is... um... about 2 hours away(!) I am kind of feeling relaxed and 'at one' with it all... I guess it's all about perception huh? I feel like these days the expectations of milestones at different ages is way different than it used to be - for instance, my parents generation were probably married with kids (or pregant), and working full time rather than studying at age 25... these days we spend maybe 3 more years studying and finding our feet before 'growing up' and being properly employed... before settling down with someone special and thinking about kids... maybe after 30! Well... that's my plan anyway! x I guess I'll just go with the flow... x
That's probably the best bit of having parents who defied those marriage norms -- they were both "old" when they did get married and have kids. My mum was 35 when she had me and 44 when the youngest was born and my father even older than that (shhh! don't tell I told). Helps take the pressure off of me. Feel free to use them to justify yourself (as if that's necessary!). I figure I have ten years before I get any crap about not being married and/or having kids.
Happy birthday! A weekend in Dalyesford, huh? Sounds lovely! Would have been my idea of hell when I was a kid, though. Remember when Daleysford was only a sleepy little town with just a chip shop and a milk bar? Now you can't even find a parking spot! Quite a renaissance. (My family used to drive through there quite frequently...) Enjoy the ryokan! -Andrea www.greentea.tk
I know! Renaissance is right! Daylesford is so posh now! The restaurants there are AMAZING (and pricey too!)... I can't wait...Although it's Melbourne Cup weekend so the whole town will probably be 'chockers' as we Aussies would say :)

YAYAYayay! Thankyou! I love Nebo Peklo. I know I have mentioned that to you already... :) But it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside that the creator(?) of one of my most favourite blogs would visit my humble livejournal occasionally :) hee hee. How funny...
hmmm.. silver linings re: turning 30... ummm... I am trying to think of one... um... I presume you have more money and a nice place to live after the age of 30... and possibly a cute baby or two... although I guess that isn't necessarily limited ONLY to those aged 30 or over... umm... also I think you'd definitely seem more wise and worldly and your opinion on things would count for more once you're not a 20-something... I don't know why... I feel like one can't be 'expert' on anything or truly well-respected as an 'authority' on something until they're past the 20's... umm... will that do? I'll keep thinking! xx
