Yeah, really cool indeed, I'd allready like to receive the top sketch, let alone the Top Secret Deco you're planning!!!! I was kinda planning a Top Secret Weird Exotic Fish, but allready showed it on my journal aswell. yuppers! fish shaped pages in a fish shaped book. though i discovered i don't have any paper large enough to make a long string of fishie cutouts that are attached, so i may just sew them at the tail or something.
I suggest adding machine paper. On the other hand, you probably have much better quality paper!
Or, you could use really strong paper and mini-grommet the mouth and hook up the page sets with a jump ring. Then it'll be sort of a fishing analogy, and add a cool detail to that edge of the book too. (?)

i don't think my fishie deco is actually going to turn out like the sketch... at least not this time =>
our furnace is not working, and i am freeeeezing... but still scanning some art i did last night, to be posted soon in the journal =)
