I made my own salsa for dinner last night. It was super awesome, negl. I think I'll go down and have a bit of that now, and then back to the job search
( Read more... )
I made another batch tonight, but just a bit spicier =D I was a bit guilted into it because after my dad got in from cutting the grass, he was looking for it, but I had already had the rest of it because I knew everyone else would be after it =P I'm selfish like that.
I don't have exact measurements for anything since I just kind of made it up as I went and what could fit in the food processor I made it in =/, but what got thrown in were:
I basically kept the tomatoes to tomatillos ratio at 2:1 - chopped them up in the food processor so as to make room for the other ingredients =P (after I quartered them first - IDK if that actually makes a difference since this is really my first foray into cooking) I'd say I diced about 1/4 c. of green onions, and about the same of the cilantro (cilantro helps make it spicy, so you can do that to your preference - I like a lot, myself). I sliced an jalapeno pepper, and tossed it in the processor and let 'er rip until it was of a lovely salsa consistency. Oh! Salt to your taste, though I found that the equivalent to a thin layer of salt covering the surface is perfect.
LOL. If you've a blender, that would work, too, I would think, although when I was making my green onion dip tonight, which has no relative solid bits to it, the blender had a hard time coping. Of course, it could just be a shitty blender, though it seems quite happy to prepare margaritas.
