Why I think Harry May Survive.

I was listening to I Should Be Writing Podcast Ep. 69 when Mur Lafferty answers a question about point-of-view. She has convinced me that Harry will live since the entire series was written in basically Harry's point of view. Every bit of what we know about the world (except some rare instances when she left Harry for a scene somewhere else) is ( Read more... )

Ahhh...BUT--the only thing that would really ensure he survives (due to the point of view) would be if it was written in 1st person. Since it's still a story being written by a "narrator", there's still a chance he could die. Heck, the book could end with Harry experiencing his own death. It could even end that way and then have a prologue detailing what happened afterward. Plus, Rowling loves to surprise us. I think she's devious enough to change things up a bit.

Of course, there's always the chance he WILL survive. I just still have this feeling he might die.

I like the way you think ;-)

Ah, perhaps he will die the same way Sirius did... but come back... like Sirius will O:-) On their way out, they will destroy the arch... leaving Voldemort trapped behind the veil forevah.

LOL! The way you said forever reminded me of The Princess Bride. ;) I dunno...I DO think that Harry will have to go beyond the veil. And I DO think he'll communicate with Sirius in some way. I have a bad feeling she won't bring Sirius back, but I'm still sticking to the idea that he's NOT dead. We'll see, I guess.

I think the way Harry will die is that he'll have to sacrifice himself to truly defeat Voldemort. I had thought his scar was a horcrux, but I'm sure that's far too obvious. Still, I think something about their connection is going to come into play somehow.

Know why I like the tensness before a book comes out? It gives everyone a chance to make great 'What ifs' and keep coming up with new ideas ;-) And the ideas keep changing and nothing is fixed until the book comes out. I know, the idea behind fanfics too... but this is different ;-)

How about... the process of defeating Voldemort ends up making Harry an avg wizard, possibly as little magic as Neville seems to control. Something in what you said made me think this ;-) Meh, but I do agree about the connection.

(there was more I was gonna say, but I lost it... stupid work ;-) )
