heh heh, my chinese birthday fell on wednesday the 11th of Feb. since Chinese New Year was early in the year this year.

Wow! That was almost convenient. Did your mother split the difference? or did she do the usual? or did she just ignore the day and wait two days? Just wondering :-)

Well I was working both days and usually leave home before she gets up. But on the 11th she got up early to wish me Happy Birthday and when i got home that night she'd made me the traditional birthday food, rice noodles with rock sugar syrup and a hard-boiled egg.
On the 13th she got up early again to wish me before i headed to work and in the evening my whole family (Dad, Mom, Bro & his fiancee) met me at my workplace and we had cake and drinks at the cafe. All kindly paid for by the executive sous chef, my supervisor at work. :)
was a nice treat, especially since we were so busy that night and the next day was going to be really busy at work with Valentine's Day Dinner for 100 people...
