Oh my god!

I--!

You--!

And the Amber and the thing with the it and they--!

Guh.

(I have an incurable weakness for Liveship Traders fic. Okay. Now to review:)

Suddenly a huge head rears up, surrounded by a ruff of magnificent red spikes tipped with gold. The mouth opens, slowly, showing needle sharp teeth. The serpent’s eyes hold endless sadness -

That is such a Hobb paragraph. I love your descriptions--they fit right into the style of the book. Good job.

Light from a streetlamp outside fell on bins of beads and shelves stocked with wooden cups and figurines. It was comforting, to be surrounded by the work of my own hands.

All these little details just supplement everything Hobb wrote in her books, you add in these perfect bits of information which I desperately crave for, and I lap it all up, like some retarded cat in front of a bowl of cream. Mmm, oh, Amber.

I did not light any lamps. I didn’t need to see, only feel.

Oh, Amber. You are the perfect craftswoman.

I sat in the dark and carved a dragon and a serpent, and I ( ... )

Oh, your praise makes me so happy. It gives me warm glowy feelings inside, it really does. I mean, I'm sort of a beginning writer, and - do you ever stop being REALLY NERVOUS when you show things to other people?

OF COURSE you can add this to the fic list. I was rather hoping you would ask, actually :D.

I feel like I should say something constructive, but sadly I'll be in the corner going 'squee!'.

The Liveship traders trilogy by Robin Hobb. Read it. But first read the Farseer trilogy (first book is Assassin's Apprentice.) And also, wait until summer to read them, because either you will not be able to get into them or they will eat your life. No in between.

Also, out of curiosity, how many other writers do you know on livejournal? ;) (And who are the other top four?)

And here I've been thinking myself relatively alone in rebelling against Hobbian wishes, writing my own Foolish tales. What a happy discovery! Ta muchly for the reciprocity, nia! Amber is a delicious character; you've done well. ♥

Oh, we're around. The problem is finding each other, as you've discovered. :) Are you a member of elderlings? It's a locked hobbfic community, I can get you an invite if anybody's still alive over there. :)

Thanks for the feedback! I love Amber; I wish there'd been more of her.
