So! Two (short-ish) fics in two days off of the writer's-block-of-death post yesterday, which demonstrates that my writer's bock is apparently quite selective. Which is just awesome. Only totally not

I am still so pissed off they used Langara as a throw-away "Wow, the Ori still suck a lot," like that I don't even know what to do with myself when I think about it. Why, Jonas? Whyyyyy?

Thank you soooooo much for the Jonas-fic. Any news from him after Ori-ed Langara is welcomed by me :)
The way RCC/Malozzi throw him away really pissed me off... I wish they consider him back for the third series *sigh* dreaming! I know! :(

Jonas! *squishes him* Oh, poor love. That was great - the running, and the desperate hope for Earth, and the idea that he finally understands Jack's pessimism - my heart broke for him a little, there.

Thank you! Yeah, he came off as way broodier than I usually think of Jonas as, but I guess considering the situation, he'd kind of have to. He'll get to Earth and have some bananas and Teal'c will make him feel better, I hope.

I know one of these stories in gen and the other slash and one includes dialogue and other is exclusively the character's head but reading them together I was really struck by how well you captured both their voices and how *different* each voice is and...that's really cool.

I loved the Jonas one! I loved all the little throw-away lines - about JAck being proud that Jonas learned pessimism, about spring bringing warmer knees during prostration, "safe beat kind," and the dreaming and the thoughts and the what ifs and the desperate hope. Really awesomely well done.

And the Cam one - you really captured both their voices and mannerisms so well. I love it!

(and now I want Jonas to meet Cam - both the new guy, replacing a beloved old guy, both excited and hyper about the shiny and wanting to learn all they can and read up on all the old missions and somewhat hero-worship their teammates...)

Wow, thank you, to all of that. I was actually a little hesitant about putting such hugely different ficlets up next to each other, but neither really seemed long enough to warrant it's own post, so I'm very glad to hear that having them next to each other ended up being a cool thing, for you. Yay. :)

(Now I want Jonas to meet Cam too, you've gotten the idea stuck in my head! Only depending on when they met, I think Jonas would so dig getting to be the 'more experienced one'
and Cam would be still be kind of a fanboy, because, ah, Jonas Quinn! Yeah, he read that one mission report about the thing on that planet, that was so cool...;-D)

Cam would be all "Jonas Quinn! What was it like, working with Colonel O'Neill!"

And Jonas could be all "Somebody likes me! And wants to fanboy me! I'm not the newest newbie!" and get all excited like at the beginning of "Fallen"

Adn they would be AWESOME together and you know Cam would take him out to a bar and they'd wind up in silly trouble somehow and Teal'c would come bail them out and they'd think it was a great adventure. Or something.
