Sci Fi Wire: Primeval's not extinct anymore; it's coming back soon

No, not the proposed American version [shudder], but the original is getting a cash infusion from the international networks also airing the show. Spoilers for the cliffhanger we were left with, plus there are some casting spoilers that could be considered plot spoilers as well.

Sadly, I didn't care either way about the show coming back because I didn't care for much of the third season, even Abby and Connor started getting on my nerves, but knowing that Danny won't be back? It's a step in the right direction. I didn't click with that character. Now they just need to discover a timeline where neither Stephen nor Nick died.

The only reason I'm still interested in the show coming back is the probably far-fetched hope that they'll fix it. Step on a bug in the past and change the timeline again, presto, new timeline. Not difficult. ;)

I didn't like Danny either and couldn't believe it when he was suddenly the lead, so with him gone I'm really hoping they'll try to get at least some of the earlier cast back. Except Helen, she can stay dead. Too much of her in the end and flip-flopping about what she was up to just ruined things, though I supposed a timeline reboot could fix that too.

Actually flip-flopping about an overall story arc was a big issue for me. Can't we just fight some new dino each week instead of having yet another conspiracy theory?

If they did that, it would totally be worth watching.

I couldn't believe it, either! They changed way too much in the third season. I hadn't been spoiled, so when Nick died I was literally gobsmacked. I kept expecting it to be the clone.

Except Helen, she can stay dead.

LOL YES THIS!!! If they brought Nick and Stephen back I would pay people to watch, but bringing Helen back would just ruin everything.

Can't we just fight some new dino each week instead of having yet another conspiracy theory?

Yeah, that whole storyline was a waste of time that could have been spent figuring out how to find a timeline where Stephen and Nick were still alive.

What do you mean, I sound like a broken record? *g*

There was too much change, too fast, and it really gave me the impression there was something going on behind the scenes that affected what was onscreen.

I want a do over timeline where as many characters as we can get (sans Helen) survive. Mesh it all back together into a new storyline, and I don't think I'd care if they keep the fancy ARC or get back to basics with more do-it-yourself stuff.

I never did get why they had all those security forces at the ARC and they were rarely along on missions unless they were to be convenient red shirts dino chow. Maybe it would be better to go back to the first season setup, with a few tweaks.
