According to StarWars .com, it will be out in September, and will be "attractively priced" individual two-disc releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. You should hear my fanboy friend, Barry. He's a fan of the originals, but couldn't see it in theaters because... um... he wasn't born for most of it. I think that's a good enough reason. ;)

He's a widescreen fanatic, and OCD enough to want both versions, so I could practically see him bouncing when he sent me the email with the news.

Oh bah. I already have these on DVD. I knew they'd come out with the original originals after. Darn it all.

I need my Han shooting first!

I held out on buying the first set on DVD. My original plan was to buy some bootlegs created from the old LaserDiscs, but I didn't get to go to the con where I can get them last year.

I do find it interesting that apparently they're going to sell these as individual discs and not a boxed set.

Well, I may actually be motivated to watch those again. But I will never forgive George Lucas for being a complete ass. I mean, he used to campaign about restoring old, degraded films to their former glory, then he spackled HIS with a bunch of cartoons and shit! I hate him! And he looks like a badger! I hate him! *bites furiously on towel*

Sorry. I just had coffee. *Ahem.*

I totally understand. This is one of my sig quotes for email, from an episode of South Park:

George Lucas: These are my movies. I made them, and I have the right to do whatever I want with them.
Stan: You're wrong, Mr. Lucas. They're not your movies. They're ours. All of ours. We paid to go see them, and they're just as much a part of our lives as they are of yours.
