Well, finally.

A long time ago, ION TV announced they had acquired the rights to air Saving Hope, then there wasn't a peep about it. I happened to catch an ad yesterday, and it's starting up this Tuesday. This is a show that NBC was airing alongside CTV in Canada, but NBC stopped airing it, never showing the last two episodes, but they did put them online. CTV ( Read more... )

Yeah, I saw that on the FB page for Saving Hope. I have never tuned into ION so I would have had no idea. the SH account on Twitter hasn't even mentioned it! But I've got my DVR set up. Already saw S1 but I'll rewatch and looking forward to S2 and beyond. Always fun to see Michael in something new!!

I don't follow fandom stuff on FB, so I often miss things. Twitter is too overwhelming, but at least stuff there is usually reposted elsewhere.

My DVR is set up too, and is practically groaning over all the stuff it has to record on Tuesday night. Looks like they're showing two episodes per week, so we should be able to rewatch season one quickly and get to the "new to us" part soon.

I think I saw the ad on BBC America during Doctor Who. ION does have a satellite spot on Dish and I think Direct TV as well (it's a sat channel, not a local ION channel, because not everyone gets ION locally). That was a premium slot, but it seems like they're waiting until the last minute to promote it at all. It also doesn't air until 10 p.m., which I don't understand. They did that with The Listener too. It's not a problem if you're using a DVR anyway, but it makes it difficult to watch live.

Definitely looking forward to seeing Michael on my screen again.

Yep, we've had 2 seasons here, but I think it's been dropped. It's really unfortunate, as I'm really enjoying it. I'm going to need to look out for DVDs at whatever point in the future they're available, but I suspect they'll be available only outside UK.

We're just getting S10 of SPN starting this week and I'm not even sure I want to watch. I've been keeping away from spoilers but honestly from how S9 ended I can only see it as yet another season where the boys are at odds, and I'm beyond fed up of that.

I wouldn't hold my breath for DVDs. There seems to be a tendency to not release a lot of Canadian network shows. I'm not sure if they don't think it will be worth the expense, especially if they can't secure distribution in the US or other countries. They might be focusing more on syndication and streaming versus physical media, which would be easier and cheaper.

I'm still watching SPN, though the camp factor is bothering me more than the boys being at odds. I think the show has been on so long, it's become a parody of what it once was, but there's still a few bits of the old show in it.
