Really bad timing to be sick...

Sep 16, 2008 09:26

I'm home feeling miserable and very sorry for myself.  This is the absolute worst time to get sick--my last day working as a receptionist at the physiotherapy clinic is on Thursday, and I start my new job on Monday!  It could be worse, I realize, such as coming down with the flu the day before the new job... So I should just quit whining and do ( Read more... )

Does leftover chicken stew count? Too tired to even open a can of chicken soup, plus the only chicken soup we have in the house is Chicken & Rice--yuck!

Thanks for the congrats--I'm pretty stoked about it!

We had a pack of coyotes that lived in the nature park behind our old Condo. It was both eerie and kinda cool when they got to howling. The thing I found entertaining is that their pack howl was at the same pitch as an ambulance siren, so when an ambulance went by they'd all start howling to answer it.

Congrats on the job!

I do like the sound of the coyotes--eerie is a good description! After about a full minute of this last night I dragged myself out of bed to the window in the hopes of spotting the pack, but it was too dark out beyond the immediate circle of light cast by the street light.

Thanks for the congratulations! It's an awesome opportunity and you have to take these things when they come along because who knows when the next one will, if ever. I'm still not 100% sure about the whole administrative assistant thing, and this will be my first time in an office/cubicle environment, but you'll never really know if you don't try it, right? The paycheck is a hefty encouragement as well... :)

The people I interviewed with seemed really nice. They made a point of stating that they are a really friendly bunch, that they like to do lots of relationship & team-building things together like BBQ's and potlucks. Sounds promising, but I hope they don't expect me to be too friendly & social right off the bat. me=introvert

congrats on the new job!!! So exciting for you. And the chances you'll see a rug rat wiping a snotty nose should decrease substantially! Hope you get well and that the girls got off to a flyer in grades 8 and 6!! (bloody hell!!!!) Break a leg next week (a theatrical encouragement only...)

Hey!! Great to see you on LJ again! Thanks for the congrats--I'm pretty proud of myself, as are R and the girls. They took me out to a really nice restaurant to celebrate (had an awesome salad with avocado, goat cheese, strawberries and candied walnuts--yum!) the night I got the job offer. Today was my last day working at the clinic, so of course I've got the little butterflies starting in my tummy (at least I'm hoping they are work nerves, not a recurrance of my bout with I'm-gonna-kick-your-ass-stomach-flu). It will all work out as long as I don't stress too much over the inevitable learning curve... :)
