Well, it's been just over one month since we moved...Things are slowly starting to settle for us here. R's been feeling much better--the best he's felt in years, according to him! I'm with R on this one. It's going to be long protracted drama and you do not need to be involved. There is likely another side to the story, it's not your responsibility to bring it to light.

Yeah, I'm pretty much sure you're right--that's how I was leaning as well. Even though it honestly does stress me out that it's happening with people I care about, I do have to learn that I can't fix everything!

Can I ask you honestly if any of the above behaviour comes as a surprise? I wonder if I am too close to the situation to see it clearly. Plus, you have the advantage of years of distance so you are not involved in any way with the politics.

The description of the behaviour comes as a surprise, which is one of the reasons I expect there's another side to the story. That is not to say that the role transition isn't a big part of what's going on, I just expect that there's more to it.

That said, it's not your deal anymore! :)
