Emma has only put on 1.5 oz in three weeks; nothing obvious as to why - still eats well (random day of super vomit should amount to this plus I moved her back to three-hourly feeds), nappies good, she seems healthy in herself - but she's just not gaining weight.  Health visitor slightly concerned so it's another trip to the clinic next week to

Re A: Try not to worry

Sometimes babies weight just stalls for a little it, especially if they have started to be more active, including brain power. The other thing to make sure they do is weigh her on the same scales as different scales can make a difference. Also, the previous weigh-in she might have been storing up a big poo whereas this latest one she might have filled a nappy relatively recently.

All these things can make a difference either singly or combined. But better safe than sorry even 'though its likely to be nothing at all. The most important thing is that her nappies are good and she herself is lively and you're a content and stress-free mum :)

Re Emma, when I've got my logical head on, I think along those lines... for example, she was due a feed just after being weighed last time (I was almost tempted to feed her in advance in order to ensure that she had gained weight, but knew that that would prey on my mind if I did. Can't win, can i ) However, I don't have my logical head on most of the time, particularly during that 4am-ish feed, which is when I start worry that I'm not providing for her in some way.

Re B: Hugs back, who know what cards dear old fate will deal us, but at least we're forewarned and are therefore forearmed.

*nods* agreeing with Issy :) We had a weight issue with Caitlin & Seren, they both lost/didn't put on "enough" at various points so they were watched more closely. As long as Emma's contented, happy and not in distress I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm not going to say don't worry about J's job situation, it's impossible not. So accept many virtual hugs and have some real ones on Sunday if you're at Lils.
