Toki was getting used to the faint sting of cold steel.
He'd been getting a lot of that lately. That and various computers, needles, and someone peering over him taking notes was all he could vaguely remember immediately after gaining consciousness. He fought it at first, which led to a few doses of anesthesia to calm him down long enough for them to run their tests. Now he'd settled into a stoic, unmoving sort of defiance toward the whole thing.
Who knew how long that would last. He had no idea what that creepy, perverted bastard planned on doing with him now that they were done testing his base physical condition.
For now the room was quiet, and dark, even devoid of the quiet beeping of any of their various computers, and he was alone. He could close his eyes, but sleep? No. Sleep wasn't going to happen, regardless of how long it had been since he'd actually slept, not counting involuntary unconsciousness.
How long had it been? A day... two? More? He had no idea. He did know that his employers would be calling him. Hell, Kazuo probably would, and he'd worry...
Just as well he didn't know about the Nexus. Or, at the very least, didn't know how to get there.
Yohji was still here, that much he knew, even if he wasn't sure he actually remembered seeing him lately. Still alive, too, though who knew for how long, what with Neu and Tot 'baby-sitting' him.
And Goku...
Goddammit.
