Read all the books! *\o/* I have heard of quilting as a hobby, but I have never heard of a doll making hobby. That sounds fascinating! What do you make them out of?
Have you heard of the app Meet Up? I signed up for it and honestly haven't gone to any of the meetings yet.. but you should check it out! I'm so awkward and weird about meeting new people that I'm nervous to try it, but it might be worth a shot.
I have looked into it, but the only events they have that aren't in the city seem to be with actual organizations that require memberships/dues, so I'm not sure why they are on the app since they are already established :/ Ah well. If I had someone to go with me, I might be willing to brave the inner city for events, but I would need a friend to go with and now we are back at square one, haha. The city here is not somewhere that a single white female in her mid-twenties should be caught alone in the daytime, and most definitely not after dark. I have thought about joining the astronomical society in my area (astronomy has always been a big hobby of mine, and if I were any good with numbers I would have gone into astrophysics), but I feel super intimidated every time I even look at their website, so... there's that. But I will find something this year! I am determined!
:) If you end up working in DC we actually could! haha, I'm a bit northeast of there, and about ten minutes closer to Baltimore than DC. It's a good distance from major cities, since it's not a bad drive, but it is also on the edge of farm country. I love farms, but the social events are lacking. Maybe I should drop a barn and host a ho-down!
