Word List Writing Challenge

Apr 10, 2007 12:41

kilerkki Posted an interesting entry on her favorite words for writing. I answered her with a list of my own, and then I had the brilliant crazy idea to make it a challenge: Write a short piece of fiction using ALL of the words on your list.

Here is my list )

original fic, fanfiction, fic, writing, ninja, meme, kazushi, someone else's moon, genma, fanfic

The imagery is vivid and...makes me feel a little queasy. but considering the scene, that's a very big compliment. Great job on it, especially with such a limited word list, too. Luckily for you, they're all vaguely related.

...and I suddenly have the urge to write Itaru and Kano. ...should we add that to our list of things to do after the 16th?

Wow, thank you! Vivid imagery I guess is the one thing I do best.

With respect to Itaru and Kano: Yes, lets. ^^.

You're quite welcome. And you're good at other things, don't forget that. *nodnod*

Itaru and Kano: a mission? Or what are you in the mood for? We were gonna write them first meeting, weren't we? Or, wait, wait! When they first meet and Kano's recruiting Itaru, right?

I will resist the urge to have Itaru face off against Tsuba. Resist. Resist.

I love the sense of confusion and shock you have here, and the edges of anguish; I have the very strong sense that your nameless protagonist is not going to make it. I kind of like it that way, actually. Reminds me of Ninja's Passing. Yay for the Everyman!

It does feel that you're stretching sometimes to fit the words in--perhaps it was because you showed the list at the top of the page, but several of the words sort of stuck out to me. Sleek and swirl and vapor, mostly. I really love the line about licking the screen door in a rainstorm, and the last two paragraphs are just painfully amazing. ;_;

Great job!
