*hug* I am with you on all of the above, man. I don't like exercising just to exercise; I have to actually make it a routine, like parking on the far side of work so I have to walk a decent distance to my office, that sort of thing. The only thing I do that could count as exercising for exercising's sake is a pseudo-yoga routine I do. But that's only because stiffening up and not stretching regularly is painful. So peeling off this thyroid weight (I had to replace my ENTIRE wardrobe, right after I'd finally dropped money on good bras, argh) is not going to be easy for me.
Perhaps there's something you can do that's pleasant, like daily strolls on the beach, that you can do that won't be horribly intensive and kick up your asthma, but also count as burning calories. You don't necessarily have to do jumping jacks! As my rheumatologist tells me, anything that involves moving for a period of time, no matter how leisurely, counts as exercise.

Maaa I really don't think there is such a thing as normal, really. Maybe. perhaps on a individual basis, but you don't have to stack your own brand of normality up against anyone's.
