GUH, this is so sad! He knows he'll most likely be hated for the part he plays :(

Unfortunately we didn't get to see the consequences of his actions, but we can safely assume, they weren't pretty. But of course the writers didn't want us to hate him. Merlin was a little bit too forgiving too. If someday Arthur learns that Kilgharrah is alive he won't be too happy.
I mean I get it that he hated Uther, but that doesn't really justify it, when he killed so many other people (and not Uther, so it was really pointless).
