[Godric is sitting on a rock, watching the waves roll in. His head turns when he senses someone approaching, and he raises an eyebrow at the stake in Buffy's hand. He refrains from mentioning it, though.]

[ buffy turns, hand tightening a bit around the stake, but she relaxes when she sees the person addressing her isn't a threat and nods to him. her guard's not totally down, though, she's still patrolling after all. ]

It is pretty nice out. One of the benefits of this place, nice weather most of the time.

That's very true. A beach resort in bad weather would be an unfortunate thing. Have you come to watch the waves as well?

Something like that.

[ maybe the beach didn't need patrolling, but it felt better than wasting time alone in her room. ]

Geez -

[ buffy whirls around and, upon seeing it's just angel, huffs in aggravation as she lowers her stakin' arm. ]

It could've just been used on you. What are you, training to be a ninja?

[ but she's smiling, tucking the stake into a belt loop on her jeans. ] Hey.

[Spike's lurking and smoking, but Buffy's probably used to it. He glances up at her, but doesn't say anything.]

[ buffy notices him after a little while and, after determining that there are no dangers in the immediate area, heads over to him, tucking her stake in a belt loop of her jeans as she walks. ]

[He nods at her as she comes closer and stamps out his cigarette.]

All's well on this coast, then?

So far, so good. [ she smiles at him. ] How are you tonight?

[ oh hai, unfamiliar person with something familiar at hand! ]

Is that a stake in your hand or are you just happy to see me?

[ o hay, unfamiliar green guy in a flashy suit! buffy glances at him and her eyes widen a bit, but she remains otherwise unfazed - he's not moving to attack her. ]

Sorry to disappoint. It's a stake.

the beach DOES rock. i wish i were there now.

[ buffy doesn't notice him right away, but when she does she nods to him, keeping the stake in hand. ]
