[sylar's wandering, as he's wont to do nowadays. if his mind doesn't have anything to do, then he'd better be moving somehow. when he sees the man on the sand, all he can remember is when he'd been in that same position, Maya picking him up off the road. (plus, he looks a little familiar...) nothing better to do, he investigates.]
Looks like I'm not the newbie anymore. Need some help?
[ jai rolls over on his back, rubbing sand off his jaw and trying to look the part of a puzzled and frightened tourist while scanning the skyline for familiar landmarks. there's nothing; it's a tropical beach, a resort town most likely. but the beach is nearly empty, eerily so. and there's not a single thing on the horizon jai recognizes; no landmarks, no buildings, not one familiar reference point.
the unfamiliar voice makes him tense, reach for a gun that won't be there. no firearms on american soil, and never has he hated that rule more. ]
I'm sorry? [ he strives for pleasant but confused, tapping at his pocket as if looking for a phone. ] Apparently, yes. My phone's gone missing and I have no idea where I am.
[his eyes widen slightly when he finally sees him, but there doesn't seem to be any recognition on Mohinder's face. The guy's already casing the place...what's going on here?]
Welcome to the club. [he offers a hand up] It's an island in the middle of literally nowhere. There seems to be no one in charge, no one knows how we got here. And despite that, it's fairly pleasant here.
[ there's something off about whoever this is; a sense of anticipation, recognition. jai's never seen him, but that doesn't mean much. the son of henry wilcox isn't exactly someone no one knows or cares about. even if mercer's not involved, there are a million other people that could be. so jai smiles, runs his hand through his hair again until the usually slicked back curls are messier. harmless tourist is the cover of the moment. ]
Really? What, someone felt we all deserved a forced vacation? [ he shrugs off the hand, waving whoever the man is back. ] Ruining my tie was bad enough, I'll get up on my own.
[ with a slight apologetic smile, jai ignores the hand; standing up on his own and pulling off his ballcap to rub a hand over his hair he glances down at his now ruined tie before tugging at the knot until he can take it off. ]
i can't WAIT for next week omg. victorymarchedSeptember 10 2010, 02:42:51 UTC
Occupational hazard. You fill out enough forms in triplicate, it becomes second nature.
[ he offers her a bland, pleasant smile and rises on his own, brushing off now ruined trousers simply to give cover for his restless hands. there are a million possibilities for what's going on, each more implausible than the next; their one commonality is they're all bad news. ]

I'm sorry, you have the wrong person.
[ jai pauses a moment, trying to recall if he'd ever used 'mohinder' as part of his cover. but he's sure he hasn't, so he just smiles apologetically and tries to smooth down his wrinkled, wet button-down without much success. ]
As for all right, other than being confused I'm fine.
