Beer Cheer 22 - Tsingtao

When buying groceries today, I nearly squealed when I saw sixers of Tsingtao in the beer aisle. Of course, I immediately placed one of the packages in my cart before finishing my shopping. I'm such a beer snob... But I think a metric (including recommendations) is less meaningful without some range and a reasonable distribution over that range. I mean, if you recommend everything it ends up being like recommending nothing, no distinction is made and no conclusion can be drawn. That said, it also gives a lack of recommendation more bite. Hmmm. I guess it's kinda like my grade inflation.

That said, Tsingtao is, indeed, a very pleasant drink... And your review makes me yearn for some beer. :o)

Much agreed about having a proper range for conclusions. For beer, though, the only bad beer is one that you can barely stomach and has no redeeming points! ;-)

On such, I suppose my beer metric is ordered...

"Highest recommendation" (Rare, per my past reviews)
"Highly recommended"
"Recommended"
"Eh" (or something else)

I consider myself a "beer snob" as well, though if it has C2H5OH in it, I'll apt like it just fine. That's probably not a good thing!

Thanks for the metric info! Mine is based on letter grades (duh) from F- (not found a beer that bad yet) to A+.

The letter grade deal reminds me too much of the classes I teach. I'd rather stray as far from work as possible. x_x;

Isn't it neat? I love Tsingtao. It has a little bit of a sake hit to it because the brewery uses rice in the process.
