I wish that folks on the other side of the argument would hear us when we say "Just because I am in favor of choice doesn't mean you, or anyone else, has to have an abortion. But we all should have the chance to for ourselves."

I've tried every analogy I can think of - freedom of religion, buying a new car, having a favorite television show or sports team...

... and then I get annoyed with their invisible friend. *sigh*

That's the whole point of CHOICE.

I'm at a point in my life that abortion would not be my automatic first choice. But my choice has no bearing on another's choice - to keep, to abort, whatever.

As my mother always points out when I accidentally use the phrase "pro-life" in front of her, "So what does that make me, pro-death?" In our family, we use the term "anti-choice ( ... )

Thanks for this post. I never had an abortion but I have had to take the morning after pill three times. It annoys me that even access to an birth-control backup like the morning after pill is often curtailed. Reading your post reminded me of going to a Planned Parenthood - in Manhattan, for an ob-gyn exam - and seeing all the security required to keep staff safe. Like my mom would say...it's a crazy world.
