Okay, so I'd never heard of these or their author, but I have a Kindle, so I'll give it a try--starting with Tech-Heaven, and moving on to the others if I like it (unless you think Deception Well and Vast are indeed better, so recommend starting with them).
I think "Vast" & "Deception Well" are *far* superior to the other two. In fact, I think the four are only a cycle in a loose sense - they take place over the same timeline but over like a milennia or two. Maybe more.
"Vast" & "Deception Well" are closer in time to one another and have characters that go from one book to the other, and make a cohesive book & sequel. I have read them over and over. In contrast, I enjoyed "Tech Heaven" and the "Bohr Maker" - but I have no need to re-read them over and over.
