Wow, I saw that article this morning and learned a lot. I had no idea.

This has been one of my biggest biggest fears for the entire time that I've been a parent. I feel like I can't breathe just thinking about it

You know, I don't they ever actually discussed that in the lifeguard class I took. Admittedly this was 15 years ago and I never actually worked as a lifeguard so I didn't reinforce the training by actually using it. But I think I would have remembered a mention of that. There was a lot about how to save a struggling victim vs. an unconscious victim but not really anything about victim recognition.
